This is all about Bernie. The only reason he's still in the race is because this is about Bernie Sanders and the movement that is centered on Bernie Sanders. As it always is.

Biden has already sold himself to voters. That's why he's blowing out Sanders. Sanders should be more concerned about why people are not voting for him than why they are voting for Biden. Sanders is losing decisively and it's rather presumptuous of him to believe that he gets to set the parameters of the debate and set the agenda.

Here's the thing - if he overstays his welcome (again) it will only harm his movement, and there's already evidence - turned in by the voters - that his movement is in serious decline. I think there's going to be much less tolerance of the kind of nonsense that happened in 2016 at the convention and if Sanders insists on dragging this out, he will only further turn people off and will accomplish nothing.

Personally, I hope he stays in the race until Biden has a majority because it will firmly close the door and eliminate any excuses his supporters have about "what if" and "if only".
