It must end 4 months before the convention or we will lose the election to Trump?
Clinton conceded to Obama about 2 1/2 months before the 2008 convention. That worked out OK. If Bernie fares poorly in the debate and March 17 primaries, he should concede to Biden - 4 months before the convention.

But that would all but gaurantee Bernie would stay in to disrupt and hurt the nominee's chances.
