(1,089 posts)Janet Napolitano. Former governor of AZ and head of Homeland Security...played a large role in helping mitigate the H1N1 flu outbreak back in 2009. Longtime advocate for immigration reform and dreamer supporter. Just stepped down as president of Univ of California late last year. Has had a few controversies over the years and some question about her health re breast cancer but she says she has a clean bill at the moment. Early supporter of Obama and worked with both him and Biden during their transition.

In February 2006, Napolitano was named by The White House Project as one of "8 in '08", a group of eight female politicians who were suggested as possible candidates for president in 2008. On January 11, 2008, she endorsed then Illinois Senator Barack Obama as the Democratic nominee for president. On November 5, 2008, she was named to the advisory board of the Obama-Biden Transition Project.
Only 62 which is a spring chicken compared to some of these candidates...LOL. Could help Joe out on some potentially crucial swing states like AZ and FL. If Joe wants executive "experience" she's got it.
Would love to get a peek at that list...I wouldn't bet a fortune on her being the VP pick but I'd wager a few bucks she's on it.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
