(96,043 posts)One is lingering allegiance to a candidate who has conceded defeat. I might have selected Professor Warren as my allegiance when commenced activity in this forum, but the option was no longer available. I gather persons who had selected candidates no longer active have their flags changed to undecided if they do not shift to a current candidate.
The second, of course, is the one you suspect --- a flying of false colors, to suggest people who have not yet made up their minds are seriously considering one candidate or another. Which candidate such people actually do prefer becomes quickly evident from their comments.
