23. de rec, this is a rehash of the discredited 'Goods Unite Us' list/app, a list is absolutely riddled with errors

It cherry-picks data and also conflates individual employees with the firms themselves, so if some people working for a firm give to Rethugs, the entire firm is black-listed by the list, which is dodgy AF in terms of methodology.

Here is an older DU OP with the same list

https://www.democraticunderground.com/100219776816 (notice that the YT video for that one has been taken down)

here are my replies from that thread:

That app is cherry picking old data from OpenSecrets.

Paul Ryan has not run since 2016, for example.

In the last 3 cycles, 2020, 2022, and 2024, the vast majority of contributions from individuals at Urban Outfitters have went to Democratic candidates.

Also, it is problematic to cast blame on entire companies in general for the actions of some of their employees.

I am sorry, but I am going to have to give a hard pass to that app that list, and that video.

Cheers,

Cel

It actually is not, see my replies in this thread. The information is cherry picked and misleading.

I hope my years here on DU exposing corporate abuse and skulduggery lend some legitimacy to my call-out. I am absolutely not a corporate shill type, but I also do my due diligence, and this list is not something I feel is accurate and/or reliable enough to label firms with based solely upon what it says.

No, sorry. Just go look up a firm on Open Secrets and other databases if you have concerns about them. Celerity Apr 2025 #36

I don't think this list is credible. For instance, Home Goods is owned by TJX Corporation who also own Raftergirl Apr 2025 #35
