16. Booker is an enigma. Maybe that will help him.

One day he is a firebrand. The next day, he sounds like the biggest appeaser in the Senate.

I do think he has ears. A good politician sees which way the wind is blowing and races that direction. Schumer is completely deaf. Booker is probably the best chance we'd have at replacing Schumer, and maybe that is part of his thinking with the filibuster. Think of it as a job interview.

And with Murphy coming to his side, that may be more than symbolic. Things could move quickly in the current climate. With Booker as Leader, I could see Jeffries being willing to take more risks. Nobody can trust Schumer. I don't believe either Booker or Jeffries are true progressives at heart, but I do believe they know which way the winds blow and will go part of the way.
