If someone works in fashion, I can readily see going all out with the exciting and new! But if someone works in a law firm, they are expected to look professional. A school teacher probably wants to dress in a practical way with kids jumping on her all day - something easy to wash, etc.

Politicians, in MY opinion, should be selling their ideas; not their appearance.

AOC comes to mind. I know she's faced some scrutiny, but she's learned to dress pretty conservatively when she's working. She saves the "wow" moments for when she's out on the town. I think her command of that has helped her be taken seriously and also has kept the belief that she's too young to serve to a minimum. She's mastered it - even with the criticisms.

Some have not mastered it yet.

Just my opinion, of course.

I guess that makes me... OLD!!! LOL
