Resting and getting a good sleep in a hospital is hard. Somebody is always coming in and fooling with something. Mattresses are not comfortable. Roomies may be having a hard time which means more traffic in and out. Sleep can be a real luxury. No sleep also aggravates pain. All of it adds up to a higher B/P. At home he can hopefully get some real rest.
First rule of night shift is never wake a patient unnecessarily. Unfortunately, it is often necessary.
