(3,024 posts)First trip to Vegas, we went on a tour to the movie stars' homes; Liberace Museum; candy factory; and the Hoover Dam. As it was before 9/11, there were no restricted areas at Hoover Dam and we saw everything. On another trip, we went to the west rim of the Grand Canyon and that was really nice. It was a long ride, but worth it. Of course, my mother was not too happy about being so far away from the casinos, but she ended up enjoying herself.
I'd seen Cirque du Soleil's "Mystere" and "Beatles Love" shows and always wanted to see "O". We finally saw it the last time we went to Vegas and it was awesome. We were staying at the Bellagio and ordinarily, we would get a discount on tickets for staying there, but since the holiday season had just started (we were there the week of Thanksgiving), not only did we not get a discount, they jacked the prices up! Despite the higher prices, tickets were scarce and we ended up paying top dollar for one step above "obstructed view." Even up in the cheap seats, it was a breathtaking show. I would definitely see it again.
