5. What I'm finding quite odd is that

I am seeing nothing that resembles campaigning on the part of any gubernatorial candidates so far. It feels scary.

Of course, maybe because we have a hotly contested mayoral election and a nearly as hotly contested city council election happening next month and I'm seeing a lot of those races and nothing of any of the other races.

Since I'm a relative newcomer, moved here in 2008, I doubt I could credibly run for any office here. And to be honest, I probably wouldn't be any good at anything I might win an election for. Even if I could win an election.
