And I’ve earned my liberal cred by watching out for this kind of thing at places I’ve worked. Thankfully I’ve had honest employers and the things I’ve caught were unintentional. Can this person be salaried? No. Do we have to pay OT if it wasn’t authorized? Yes. And I’ve unofficially advised my husband’s employer about meetings off the clock for hourly employees (NO) and OT issues. Nothing pisses me off more than wage theft.
