I recall reading that he feels energized when he has adversaries and something to fight against. So, these kind of tweets not only serve to gladden the groins of his minions but serve a psychological need for him to have a coalesced force or representative person to oppose him. These kind of taunting tweets bring him what he desires--an altercation of some form. Expect this as a regular tool of his to get him what he needs to rev himself up.
